Videology introduces the 30V1634P 1.6-3.4 mm varifocal lens. Access the widest field of view commercially available by simply rotating the 30V1634P’s ring--from 167°—43° on a ¼” CCD and from 184°—58° on a 1/3” CCD! With the Videology 30V1634, installers gain an additional 50° over the commonly used 2.8-12 mm lens!
The 30V1634P allows installers to optimally frame their image to the customer’s exact specification. Current OEM usage includes an outdoor traffic application involving cameras mounted on the inside of tunnels. The 30V1634P's field of view is able to capture the tunnel's entire span, enabling a single camera to comprehensively monitor the breadth and depth of multiple lanes of travel. Current indoor applications include retail surveillance, utilizing a single camera to frame an entire row of cash registers from close range.
Prior to the introduction of the 1.6-3.4 mm lens there were two choices. Video camera installers could settle for a fixed wide-angle lens and guess, often non-optimally, at the fixed focal length required to frame the scene. This method often required subsequently changing-out the lens when a wider-angle lens was required, thereby increasing costs for both the lens and the installer’s time. Alternatively, an installer may have hoped the standard, more costly 2.8—12 mm varifocal lens would be wide enough at 2.8 mm, sometimes compromising the shot with the restricted field of view.
The 30V1634P's auto iris capability adjusts for high-light overload and is capable of handling the widest range of lighting conditions. Also enjoy minimum distortion and a fast, sensitive F-stop of 1.4.
As a final perk, the 30V1634P is priced low enough to complement competitive security packages, priced nearly comparable to the popular 3.5 to 8.0 mm varifocal CS lenses.
