1.3 Megapixel Monochrome CMOS Camera Board Expands Videology’s USB 2.0 Camera Line.

November 3, 2005
Greenville, RI USA/ Uden, Netherlands:

Videology's new 1.3 Megapixel monochrome CMOS camera board with USB 2.0 output, model 24B1.3XUSB produces clear images fast—at 15 frames per second at full 1280 x 960 resolution compressed and 8 fps uncompressed. The camera comes with WDM device drivers, and is DirectX and TWAIN compliant.

The 24B1.3XUSB, a monochrome ½” progressive scan sensor with a 1280 x 960 pixel format, achieves sensitivity of 0.01 lux out to 1.1 micron in the near infrared spectral response range. Users will experience minimal “fixed pattern” or “video” noise.

Intelligently designed with simplified cabling, the 24B1.3XUSB achieves video, power & full camera control over a single USB cable. A complete SDK is available, and the camera is FCC, Class B, CE Ready. Support is available for Windows 2000 & Windows XP Operating Systems. Control of many camera features over USB is possible using the free viewer software. A complete software development kit is available for OEMs to customize the camera to individual preferences.

True monochrome is required for many industrial applications—the 24B1.3XUSB is suited for a broad range of applications including fluorescence detection, biometrics, industrial control, outdoor traffic/toll monitoring, covert law enforcement equipment, and eye mapping. Unfettered by color filter overlays, the 24B1.3XUSB achieves pure and accurate edge resolution, while the large-sensor, monochrome format allows for maximized sensitivity.

OEMs are choosing Videology as their USB 2.0 manufacturer for the company's industrial approach and focus on long product life—once a Videology board is designed-in, a manufacturer can rest easy and not fear camera design changes or short product life and the risk of costly or untimely redesign.

Videology manufactures an entire family of related board cameras and USB 2.0 boards, all compatible with the same drivers. A pinhole, M-12 board, or CS lens mount can be used on all Videology USB cameras, and all are powered by 5V through the USB bus.

Videology engineers can consider custom features for OEMs. All USB cameras are priced to be a competitive choice for volume design-in. Call or email sales@videologyinc.com today for more information or an in-stock sample.
